‘A general election took place in August 1923, it was one of the most important in the county’s history.

Coming just three months after the Civil War ended, the sometimes-vicious campaign ended with something of a surprising result. Find out what happened in this podcast hosted by historian Eoin Swithin Walsh‘

Recording Milk Chun Stands workshop

Milk churn stands (aka creamery stands) played an important part in the rural economy and communication until the early 1980s, but are now often overlooked. How many are there, where are they and what state are they in? You can help answer these questions by becoming part of a world wide, sustainable project to record them on OpenStreetMap and Wikimedia. In this workshop, you will learn how to record photographs and local history on Wikimedia and how to map milk churn stands on OpenStreetMap. Both are OpenData platforms which means that the data is accessible for anyone to use and work with. You can use the skills you acquire in the workshop to record any type of built heritage, including holy wells, mass paths, forges and many more. Please come along with photographs and stories about milk churn stands in your area! If you have photographs on your phone, it would save some time on the day.
